Baby milestones - 11 month old
Here is a brief guide to what your baby is learning to do at the end of 11 months.
Your 11 month old is more than likely keeping you very busy - he or she may seem to be learning and developing new skills every day.

- Your baby may show an interest in turning the pages in books, although it probably won't be just one page at a time!
- Things that move are fascinating to babies at this age. In particular, they love to swing doors on hinges back and forth - so be aware of that safety issue.
- Still working on developing leg muscles at this stage and this is done by cruising around furniture while standing up and holding your hands to walk.
- Copies actions as well as sounds.
- Labels the correct parent with “Mama” or “Dada”.
- Enjoys games such as pat-a-cake and peek-a-boo.
- Will start to use some of his old toys in new and novel ways.
- Starting to learn concepts such as up and down, hot and cold, in and out.
- Initiates social interactions.
- May takes comfort in familiar objects such as a security blanket or favorite stuffed animal.
- Assert herself around brothers and sisters.
- Show pride after accomplishments e.g. such as when putting objects into a container may clap hands.
- May show an interest in helping by wanting to pull off her own socks while undressing.
